The Citadel Alumni Association
The association provides a private, self-sustaining, non-profit organization (a) to support, advance and promote the ideals and purposes of The Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina, the Corps of Cadets, and the Alumni; (b) to foster, perpetuate and preserve the history, memories, values and traditions of The Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina,the Corps of Cadets and the Alumni; and (c) to sell, award and determine the right to wear the ring of The Citadel, which ring and the trademark thereto are owned by the Association.
American Battle Monuments Commission
Established by Congress in 1923, the American Battle Monuments Commission (ABMC) commemorates the service, achievements, and sacrifice of U.S. armed forces. ABMC manages 24 overseas military cemeteries, and 25 memorials, monuments, and markers. Nearly all the cemeteries and memorials specifically honor those who served in World War I or World War II. Foundation United Caretakers American War Graves
This foundation aims to help caretakers of American war graves with their research on the soldier whose grave they have adopted via various projects. On the website are various tips where to find and request information on American soldiers who served in World War Two and who gave their lives for freedom. Some of these tips can be found in the “Research” section on the website or on its forum.
World War II On Your Own
Whether you’re living in Europe or just visiting, you can tour WWII history sites on your own. Our self-guided trips augment the existing books and professional WWII guides, and add off-the-beaten-track spots and stories from people who lived the history. Directions always start from our home base of Ramstein/Landstuhl, about 100 miles southwest of Frankfurt.

I have adopted 5 graves at the U.S. cemetery and memorial Margraten (NL), 10 graves at the U.S. cemetery and memorial Ardennes (BE) and 10 graves at the U.S. cemetery and memorial Henri-Chapelle (BE). On this website you learn about the men who gave to ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. They should never be forgotten, you can see the Faces Beyond their Graves.

Akkers van Margraten
This site has a very detailed timeline with stories, photos and videos of the history of the American Cemetery in Margraten, The Netherlands. It leaves quite an impressive when you begin to understand what it took to bury almost 20,000 people in a little more than a year’s time, and then later move or repatriate over 11,000 a few years later. Today, 8 Citadel Men rest in peace at Margraten. You will find the English version button in the top right corner under “Contact”. Wait for the page to load all the way.
Foundation for Adopting Graves at the American Cemetery Margraten
The foundation offers those interested in doing so the option of adopting the grave of a fallen soldier. The Foundation sees the management of the register of people adopting graves as one of the main focuses of its work.
Fallen Not Forgotten
Paying a tribute to the many young service-members who gave their life for our freedom, and making certain that the stories of their lives shall not be forgotten, are the main goals of this website. In effect we hope to build a bridge between the people in America and the Netherlands, the people on both sides of the ocean who feel related to those buried or commemorated at the Netherlands American Cemetery.
Les Fleurs de La Mémoire
This association is created to perpetuate the memory of the soldiers, sailors and airmen buried in the American Cemeteries of Colleville-sur-Mer and Saint James in Normandy (France), by placing flowers on their tombs.
Madingley American Cemetery Damian Lappin’s Unofficial Guide
My main reason in developing this website was to provide some high resolution photography of Madingley American Cemetery taken at various times throughout the year which I hope relatives of those buried and remembered here will enjoy viewing. I appreciate that many people living in the United States and further afield may not have the opportunity to visit Madingley American Cemetery in person and I hope this site conveys the beauty and atmosphere of the cemetery to those who are unable to visit.

U.S. Veterans Friends Luxembourg
The association’s goal is to assist the American Veterans and their first-degree family-members. Another objective is to decorate with flowers once a year each of the graves of the fallen American soldiers laid to eternal rest at the American Military Cemetery in Hamm, and to adopt these graves.
